Thanks to the generosity of our Christ the King community, we are able to offer our students all of the resources of the best public schools in the area. We also provide a Center for Academic Achievement, a resource that enables us to address the unique gifts and challenges of each of our students.
Christ the King invests heavily in technology, up-to-date textbooks and other resources to ensure that our students have everything they need to achieve academic success. We are great believers in merging Catholic intellectual tradition with the 21st Century educational model where students become become active learners and critical thinkers.
We place great emphasis on computer classes for all students – from Kindergarten through the 8th grade. Our computer teacher works closely with other staff to make sure that our technology training supports all aspects of our core curriculum. Over the past two years, we have been blessed to add iPads in every classroom to enhance instruction and learning. In addition to providing computers and SMARTboards in every classroom, we train our teachers to integrate technology into their lesson plans wherever possible. One example is our Lexia Reading Program, which allows students to develop reading skills at their own pace.
To encourage advanced learning possibilities and research, Christ the King offers a fully equipped, PC-based Computer Science Lab. We also work with Sycamore, a service that provides parents and staff with real-time access to student grades, important announcements and the school calendar. Communication between school staff and parents is accomplished through the utilization of Outlook and weekly newsletters from the office. Additionally, Christ the King is partnering with SafeSchools Online to offer parents a cloud-based tool that enables them to identify potential problems with their child's use of technology.
These investments in technology, along with our small classes and highly qualified teachers, ensure that each student is able to make the most of their experience at Christ the King.
