Mrs. Rachel Sangchompuphen
Kindergarten Aide / Tuition & Incidentals Support
Mrs. Rachel was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to Colorado in 2009. She earned her BA from the University of Detroit – Mercy and later received her Early Childhood Educator from the Community College of Denver. She first became a parishioner of Christ the King after attending a few catholic churches in metro-Denver. Christ The King was very welcoming and felt like home. She then became a CTK school parent when her youngest started in Pre-K. She soon was asked to “help” the Preschool/Pre-K program as a substitute teacher. Over a decade later, she happily helps the Kindergarten class in the morning and in the afternoon, she helps the entire school handle tuition and other incidentals or anything the school may need done for the day.
Fun Facts:
Mrs. Rachel’s family (from her mother’s side) is from Homonhon Island where Ferdinand Magellan and “his” Spanish ship first landed and discovered the Philippines on March 15, 1521. Her family still has a humble house there and she looks forward to going back whenever she gets a chance to go “home home.” It can only be reached by boat.
Mrs. Rachel has been married to Tony for almost 30 years and has 2 children – Ryan & Rose. They enjoy what Colorado has provided for their family. Her son loves the snowy mountains as a rider and a skier and has recently discovered the joys of fly fishing. Her daughter transitioned from over a decade of figure skating to girls' ice hockey.
At age 40, Mrs. Rachel ran her very first Colfax marathon in 4 hours and 24 minutes.
